hello yarn

I got my knitting vibe back! I've picked up Jemima again, and hopefully she'll be done in a couple of weeks. A trip to my LYS (get knitted, in Bristol) was also in order, where I found this gorgeous Manos Silk Blend...

and this, which I am so in love with...

It has a soft silky feel and knits up beautifully, but it is variegated so I'm not sure what to do with it. It needs to be something smaller, like gloves or a hat, and something worn next to the skin would be great as its so soft. I was thinking of a garter stitch scarf, but I'm not sure if one skein would be enough. Maybe lace would work better? Anyway...

I think I may also be a Rowan junkie. I was determined to try some different brands when I went into the shop, but somehow I came out with five balls of Rowan. Including this blue 'tapestry' which I'm swatching for Erika Knight's v-neck sweater.

Isn't it oh so pretty!

Great choices for your stash! I don't know what yardage Manos silk blend has, but how about some Mittens/Wrist Warmers? That might work. I've just checked on Ravelry, and you can knit some with only as little as 85 yards. And you get to wear it next to the skin.

I'd think a visit to Get Knitted would rejuvenate anyone's knitting mojo!

Looks like I may have been spouting nonsense about not being to post a comment..... apologies!

I, too, have a lone skein of Manos silk blend that I just had to get to try out! I'm thinking of a hat, but I'll wait to see what you pick and how it turns out...
