I'm sorry its taken me so long to reply, hopefully you'll just get this in time : (

Unfortunately there is a real dearth of crafty shops in Bath, no knitting, sewing, or haberdasherys in the main shopping area at all. Some of the more residential areas have small independant shops, like Edna's, but they're not really within walking distance from Milsom Street. Your best bet is the wonderful 'Get Knitted' on the outskirts of Bristol. Its just 20 mins by car, and they have the best yarn supply in the area. They also have an international website of you want to check them out. Other than that locals have either got the small wool section of John Lewis over at Cribbs Causeway (huge shopping mall, very busy) or they buy online.

Sorry to disappoint! There are lots of other lovely shops though, especially 'Vinegar Hill' on Milsom Street and 'Hansel and Gretel' just off Brock Street (between the Circus and The Crescent). If you want to try a typical English afternoon tea I can recommend the Jane Austen Centre tearoom, on Gay Street.
